Saving Animals

Start date: January 1, 2024

What: A student-led project that can be ANYTHING you want it to be. Examples: research article, drawing, poster, website, game, slide show, field trip, etcetera. Anything goes, have fun and learn something.

Who: Students in elementary, middle or high school (or home schooled).

Why: To inspire you to DO SOMETHING, SAVE SOMETHING!

When: There are no deadlines! Work on your own pace, send in your materials when they are done.

How (AKA the rules): Read Saving Sunshine, a graphic novel about a pair of twins who find an injured loggerhead turtle on the beach and decide to help it. Then, discuss it in class or at home, and choose your own favorite endangered species for your project. Create your project in teams or alone, at home or in school. Finally, take a picture of your project, along with some notes about your team members and what you learned, and send it to me!

Prizes: Project pics will be shared on my social media and/or my website. You could win a virtual visit with me, a signed copy of Saving Sunshine or any of my other books, and more. Best of all, you’ll hopefully be inspired to learn more about an endangered species!
